Some pets require a different approach to grooming. As pets age or as their tolerance changes, grooming may need to be adjusted to better support comfort, safety, and overall wellbeing. While many pets continue to do well within a standard grooming appointment, others benefit from a slower, more flexible experience.
At Rokos, we offer Senior, Special-Care, and Comfort-Care grooming services for pets whose needs fall outside of a routine grooming visit. These services are scheduled intentionally to allow appropriate time and attention for each pet. Due to the individualized nature of these services, pricing will vary depending on the level of care needed.
Our Services
At Rokos, we provide professional pet services with a strong focus on comfort, safety, and individualized attention.
We offer dog and cat grooming and boarding for pets under 65 pounds. Our services are tailored to each pet’s tolerance and individual needs, recognizing that not all pets experience grooming and boarding the same way.
While many pets fit within a standard service, others require additional consideration during grooming. In those cases, we offer specialized grooming services, including grooming for senior pets, pets requiring special handling, and puppies requiring additional time or support.
Comfort-focused grooming is also available for pets who benefit from a gentler, dignity-centered approach during particularly sensitive stages.
These services are available by consultation.

Senior Grooming
Senior grooming is intended for pets whose grooming needs have changed over time.
Some senior pets continue to tolerate grooming much like they always have. Others may experience reduced stamina, increased sensitivity, or a shorter tolerance for longer appointments. Senior grooming services are adjusted based on what the pet is comfortable with on the day of service.
For senior pets, veterinary guidance is an important part of determining grooming suitability.
Special-Care Grooming
Special-Care grooming is available for pets who require additional consideration during grooming, regardless of age.
This may include pets who need additional time, benefit from a more flexible pace, or require extra support to complete grooming comfortably. Some pets may also have behavioral sensitivities that affect how they tolerate grooming.
Special-Care grooming is based on tolerance and comfort, not labels or diagnoses. Services are adapted according to what the pet allows and tolerates during the appointment.
Comfort-Care Grooming
Comfort-Care grooming is available for pets who benefit from a gentle, comfort-focused approach during particularly sensitive stages of life.
These appointments prioritize calm handling, reduced stress, and respect for physical and emotional limits. Comfort-Care grooming is not cosmetic-focused, and completion of a full groom is not guaranteed. Services may be adjusted, shortened, or stopped at any point based on the pet’s tolerance.
For Comfort-Care grooming, veterinary guidance is required to ensure grooming is appropriate & supportive at that time.
Veterinary Guidance & Suitability
Rokos provides professional grooming services only.
For Senior, Special-Care, and Comfort-Care grooming, services are performed with consideration of the pet’s veterinarian’s guidance regarding grooming suitability, tolerance, & overall wellbeing. We do not diagnose medical conditions, provide medical treatment, or replace veterinary care.
Pets receiving these services must have an established veterinarian available, as grooming decisions are made with the pet’s safety and comfort as the priority.
Level of Care & Scheduling
Some pets require minimal adjustment, while others may need additional time, flexibility, or hands-on support. Scheduling and service scope are based on the level of support needed during the appointment, rather than age or labels.
Availability for these services is limited to ensure appropriate attention and pacing.
